If student’s try to navigate the college dating scene without a compass to guide their way they will inevitably end up in one or more of the fourteen dating traps and once trapped may find it hard to get out. This program will reveal the fourteen common dating traps and how to avoid them allowing the student to make conscious dating decisions.
1. The Marketing Trap – presenting a false self
2. Packaging Trap – focusing only on the outside
3. Scarcity Trap – believing in a limited supply
4. Compatibility Trap – mislead by similar interests
5. Fairytale Trap – being passive
6. Date –To – Mate Trap – committing too soon
7. Attraction Trap – letting emotions cloud you choices
8. Love Trap – misinterpreting your feelings
9. Sex Trap – focusing on the physical
10. Rescue Trap – thinking the relationship is the answer
11. Co-Dependant Trap – becoming a chameleon
12. Entitlement Trap – not taking personal responsibility
13. Virtual Reality Trap – too quick to jump
14. Lone Ranger Trap – fear of being alone
Students will be given the skills to identify how they can easily become entangled in one of these traps and what they can do to make sure they don’t get ensnared. The student will not only receive the definition of each of these traps but will be provided with the solutions, which will help them avoid the traps all together or, if they find themselves in one of the traps, how to get out of it so they can have healthy and fulfilling relationships, not only with themselves but with others as well.
